I can’t thank you enough for the work you did on my Ms. Pac-man machine. It has been in my family since the early ’80s and it means a lot to all of the DeLancey’s that it is back and ready for play. I wasn’t sure that I would be able to get the machine fixed, and I called a lot of other companies to see if I could have the machine serviced. They were either not willing to work on the machine, or made it really complicated to figure out how best to handle refurbishing my machine. We got Future Spa set-up and running in our upstate New York vacation home without issue. The bad news is that your previous high score has been eclipsed. But all is good. We had no real issues at all. The only concern now is that the machine is in a location where the late afternoon sun is going to beat down on the new paint and begin the fading process again. I researched pinball cover (if you have a recommendation, I will listen) but expect to use a bed sheet or something similar to cover the pin when we are not there.

Play is good; had initial issue with the ball careening between the sides in the chute launching the ball.  Thought it might be because the angle was not steep enough.  However, that issue didn’t present itself as noticeably after a few rounds.  If you know what might cause this, I would be interested.

Overall, very pleased!

I have used Home Arcade Repair Services for quite a few months now.  I have 2 classic pinballs, a couple of classic stand up and several cocktail cabinet video games.   Eric has always been responsive and helpful for my needs.  He’s been doing this for many years, and it definetely shows!

The games that I have are manufactured primarily between 1978 and about the mid 1980’s.    (Bally 1980 Flash Gordon pin, Early Stern 1980 Flight 2000, Defender, Space Invaders, Dig Dug, Frenzy, etc.) Unfortunately, most electronic components were never designed to last 30 years, and video games and pinballs from this era are no exception, there are certain components on these classic games that simply wear out over time whether they’re used or not.

I do computer maintenance for a living, and while I don’t work on arcade equipment for a living – I really can’t think of too many people these days who use computers/typewriters, or watch TV’s made in 1980’s either. It’s really becoming a lost art!
The only reason why my machines run so well today is because of Eric’s services.  He has clearly forgotten more about these games than I will simply ever know.  He was fixing these games when they were released, and is frankly one of a few stewards left who really understands the ins and outs of these products.

Eric can work on BOTH era designed games styles, interacting with score displays, power supplies, etc in many cases.   These games do break, either from use and/or neglect. Either way they do break, it is just what they do, and they do require TLC with there use..   Eric solved several contact issues with my Flash Gordon within the first few minutes of looking at it at my home, and works considerably better than before.

Arcade video games for some reason, really have less support than pinball in terms of parts.  Arcade games used to have standard resolution CRT monitors, powered by 5 and 12V power supplies, and in the case of my games…8 and early 16 bit processors.   Most of this hardware is made any longer.   Eric clearly has helped be proactive to ensure that these systems may very will live on and they’ve never looked or worked better.
I live in Rockland County, NY and I travel to West Redding, CT to engage Eric’s services, dropping off my classic video game collection games, one/two machines at a time for him to throughly go through, over the past year.  I’ve been in the technology business for over 25 years.   There aren’t too many people who approach his skill level, and the ones that do…have largely retired!

Dan, I thank you for the VERY kind words…With all that you have said to promote my experience and my caring of these now classic games, it is not getting any easier as most of the machines I do get to do service on are now over 3 decades old! Many owners of these games just do not understand that! But, I do what I can with them as these machines were never manufactured/built to be around this long either..Newer equipment is also “built on the cheap” so, its really a double edge sword here…… Anyway, I thank you for your long standing support over the past year+ with your drop off video game in shop repairs!

Eric recently spent an entire day at my house fixing a range of games:
Megatouch Force 2004 (Upgraded to 2006.5 & Repair), Data East Simpsons Pinball, Bank Shot Pinball, Twilight Zone Pinball & Monopoly Pinball. I was most impressed with how prepared he came and the amount of different parts he had for the variety of games that I needed repaired. I was also very pleased with how fast he went through each game and found things that needed repairing that I wasn’t even aware of.  All the games he worked on are 100% running great again, there is nothing like playing pinball when the game is working 100%. His knowledge of the different types of machine was great too since I have a Gottlieb Bank Shot Pinball Machine from the 1970’s, newer pinballs from the 90’s and 2000’s.
